U4GM - Fallout 76 Items: 17 Items You Should Always Keep for Trading

If you’ve spent any time wandering the wastelands of Fallout 76, you’ll know how important bartering can be. Whether you’re dealing with other players or NPC vendors, certain items carry serious value. Some are always in demand for crafting, others are useful in builds, and a few are just plain hard to find. As someone who’s spent more hours than I’d care to admit scavenging Appalachia, here are 17 items I always keep in my stash for trading—and you should too.

1. Stimpaks (Especially Super and Diluted)

Stimpaks are the backbone of survival. Players are always looking to top up their supply, especially during tough events or endgame content. Super Stimpaks fetch an even better return in trades.

2. High-Value Ammo (.50, Ultracite, Plasma Cores)

Ammo might not be the flashiest currency, but it's one of the most dependable. Keep an eye out for rarer types like Ultracite rounds or plasma cores—heavy gun and energy build players will gladly trade for them.

3. Flux (Stable Variants)

Whether it’s Cobalt, Crimson, or Yellowcake, stable flux is critical for endgame crafting. It's not the easiest to farm consistently, so players often look to trade for it.

4. Legendary Modules

These are essential for crafting and rerolling legendary gear. With many players deep into min-maxing their builds, Legendary Modules are always in demand.

5. Screws and Springs

Crafting enthusiasts and weapon builders never have enough of these. They’re easy to collect in bulk but valuable enough to trade for a decent return.

6. Ballistic Fiber

This is a key ingredient in many armor mods, especially for stealth and VATS builds. Not everyone has the patience to farm military bases for it.

7. Caps

The universal currency. While you can earn them through gameplay, many players look for the Best Place to buy Fallout 76 Caps when they need a quick boost—especially during in-game vendor restocks or when hunting rare items.

8. Plans and Schematics (Especially Rare Ones)

Plans for things like the Secret Service Armor or rare weapon mods can be hot trading commodities. Duplicate rare plans are especially valuable for bartering.

9. Bobbleheads and Magazines

Temporary buffs or collection goals, bobbleheads and pre-war magazines are useful and collectible. They’re light, valuable, and easy to trade.

10. Raw Adhesive

Another essential crafting material. If you don’t feel like farming corn and mutfruit every time you need to mod your gear, adhesive trades will keep your builds going strong.

11. Treasury Notes

While they can’t be traded directly, players often trade items or caps for them because they’re tied to endgame currency. Stockpile them if you do Daily Ops and events.

12. Gold Bullion Items

Certain Gold Bullion weapons and armor are locked behind faction ranks and time-gated purchases. They can be extremely valuable in trade if you’ve unlocked access.

13. Nuclear Keycards

Useful for launching nukes, these are always in short supply for players who love farming Scorched Earth or other high-tier events.

14. Caps Stashes and Maps

Treasure maps and caps stashes are a bit of a gamble, but many treasure hunters love them. They’re also fun items to trade for themed roleplay builds.

15. Alcohol (Especially Vintage or Crafted)

Alcohol buffs are niche but valuable for melee and heavy builds. The rarer or crafted types like Vintage Whiskey or Nukashine are always worth something in trade.

16. Serums

Mutations are meta-defining in Fallout 76. Craftable serums like Marsupial or Healing Factor are always sought after by new players or those reworking their builds.

17. Cheap Fallout 76 Items from Vendors or Events

Some items may seem junky, but if you know where to find cheap Fallout 76 Items, you can flip them in player trades. For example, holiday event gear, Fasnacht masks, or low-cost legendary drops from purveyor sales often carry surprising value.

Trading smart in Fallout 76 is all about knowing what players need and what’s hard to get. Whether you're just starting out or deep into your endgame grind, keeping an eye on what’s valuable can seriously improve your stash and your social standing in the community. If you're looking for consistency in finding valuable loot, or just want to know where the Best Place to buy Fallout 76 Caps is, veteran players often turn to sources like U4GM. Knowing what’s in demand and being ready to trade is part of what makes the wasteland feel alive.
